You have tried everything. I know I have.
Bought organic food. Added more whole foods. Ate pounds of kale. Cut out the chips and crap food. Drank huge jugs of spring water all day long. Tried all kinds of crazy supplements, one after another. You tried running. Jump roping. Zumba. Pilates. Yoga. And for what? Nothing changes. No weight loss. No energy boost. Nothing. Nada. Zilch.

Trust me. I know. I have been there. For years. I reached such a level of frustration with nutrition and weight that I actually went back to school and got certified in Holistic Nutrition!
I thought maybe if I finally understood what my body needed I would be able to achieve my goals. And while I learned a lot from my certification, I graduated in the same situation I was in before school with my weight! Until one day in 2012, I was again searching online for my weight loss miracle, I found Eat Stop Eat.
ESE introduces such a simple concept for weight loss. One that hadn’t even occurred to me. I have been switching up my diet for years in an attempt to see what foods would help me lose weight. Well you won’t find weight loss in food (for the most part). You find weight loss in taking breaks from food altogether! DUH.

I am not typically a review writer. I have read hundreds, even thousands of reviews on all types of health and wellness products, but never once have I written one. But I really felt compelled to let other people know what I thought of Eat Stop Eat. (Maybe it’s the certified nutrition coach in me…) Anyway. Here goes.
What is Eat Stop Eat?
In one sentence: ESE was my answer! ESE was the ONLY thing that budged the scale after years of staring down at those same numbers. I do want to mention that I did not ever have a LOT of weight to lose. I am a person who was average weight. Not overweight, but not thin. I was the “last 10 pounds” kind of person.
ESE gives you control over your weight. Before reading ESE, I felt like I was at the mercy of the scale. 1. It works. This is the most obvious reason. In the diet industry today, there are a lot of people trying to sell you junk that doesn’t work, or even worse, can make you sick. This book not only gives you the instructions on HOW to lose weight. It explains WHY it works. I know (for myself) this is a big deal to understand the science behind the results.
2. It is healthy for you. How many weight loss plans out there can you say are actually going to improve your overall health? Not many. ESE actually looks at the human body in a different way than most. It reminds us that we originated from wild animals. Our ancestors had to deal with situations that were not always favorable.
In plain English, sometimes our ancestors couldn’t find food to kill and eat! This was a natural fasting state. No cave men passed out, or got the shakes, or died, from a short fasting state. As any survivor would, humans have adapted to make the best of this situation over thousands of years. It is actually part of our genetic code now.
When you read ESE, you will actually discover that our bodies are actually designed to go through periods of feeding AND fasting! I think this is the most shocking fact for most people in the modern world. Um, excuse me, we are designed not to eat constantly? I know. It’s horrible.
However when you realize this key point, losing and maintaining a healthy weight becomes much MUCH easier.
3. It’s easy. The whole idea behind ESE is to NOT eat all the time. It doesn’t require any special foods or gadgets. It doesn’t require monthly subscriptions or fees. You don’t have to eat low fat, or low carb, or anything weird. You don’t need supplements or special sneakers. In fact, you can even do ESE successfully without exercising…(I am not saying this is the best way to go..but it is an option)

ESE has given me the power to control how much I weigh. If I don’t like what the scale says I schedule a fasting day. No big deal. I no longer get upset by the numbers. I now use the scale as a feedback system. It just tells me when I need to add a fasting day. Easy. The number holds no emotion for me anymore because I know I have power over it.
